Urban development (Projects) - Go Green – urban landscaping

Project title: Go Green, be part of Guerilla Gardening team!!!

The project comprises two elements: educational, aimed at waste reuse, and practical, aimed at acquiring gardening skills, and introducing a new tool for public inclusion in landscaping activities with the purpose of promoting and raising eco-activism to a higher level.

The project was implemented with the help of various community actors (pupils, students, institutions, pensioners, civil sector) through various joint activities including landscaping of public areas thus spreading positive community spirit.
The creative workshops and guerilla gardening actions had a positive impact on those directly involved in their implementation as well as the public in general. All these creative, efficient, and innovative actions resulted in greening various concrete covered areas as greenery plays an important role in preserving public health, protecting the environment, improving one’s lifestyle habits and the quality of life in general.
The methods applied during the project implementation included: - hands-on involvement of target groups (mapping, photographing, planting, sculpturing and producing flower pots)
- informal education – creative workshops – the participants acquired skills required for waste reuse and practical use of waste (paper and plastic) by making flower pots.
- demonstration – how and when to landscape and public attitude towards related issues.
